About us

The Arg Beiyn Veterinary Practice was founded in December 2001 by Edric Cross and Karl Bovenizer following the purchase of the practice from Stuart Angus. Since that time we have strived to improve the quality of the service we offer to the animals under our care. Our Onchan surgery underwent major changes and investment soon after purchasing the practice to give a modern veterinary hospital environment. In December 2006 we moved our Ramsey surgery onto Parliament Street and brought it up to the modern standards of our Onchan branch.

The practice is a mixed practice but more and more has concentrated on the small animal aspect of Veterinary medicine, this taking up at least 75% of our time. The remainder spent between horses and farm work. As a consequence of this we have spent a lot of time and effort concentrating on this side of the practice.

The practice runs with 4 full time veterinary surgeons who work in three branches ensuring all our clients have a choice in whom they wish to see. Our flagship branch in Onchan offers excellent facilities for surgery and diagnostics (including cardiology).(See here for more information)

Staff training is an important part of the quality of the service we provide, and we are a training practive for Qualified Veterinary Nurses. We still offer a 24hour emergency service allowing our clients to see us in what can be very stressfull situations. This is shared evenly between all our vets who also have access to nursing staff if necessary. Nurses are also available to check our in-patients which require monitoring or medication.
