Monthly Promotion - Heart Month

At Arg Beiyn Veterinary Practice we want to look after all of your pets’ needs, however there are also a couple of areas that we have particular expertise in. Heart disease is one area where we can offer that little bit more to our clients and this month we would like to make that even easier for you.
Our pets rarely get ‘Heart Attacks’ in the sense that humans do but there are a couple of heart conditions which are very common to dogs and cats. Within the dog population there are two major forms of heart disease which are closely related to the size of the dogs. Also some breeds are more prone to certain diseases than others. In cats, since major changes to cat food in the late 1980’s, there is really only one major disease in cats. However, there are a few possible causes of it.
For our Heart month we have two different offers for you. If your pet is showing symptoms of tiredness, panting or coughing, unwillingness to exercise or collapse he or she may have underlying heart disease. During the month of February, we are offering you a free heart check with our resident Cardiologist, Karl Bovenizer MVB, CertVC, MRCVS, to make sure your pets heart is ticking along nicely!
If your pet already has heart disease, whether on medication or not, it is always useful to monitor how he or she is progressing. The gold standard way of managing this is through cardiac ultrasound (echocardiology). Using our state of the art Ultrasound machine, which allows us to not only examine the heart and all it’s chambers, but also allows us to measure blood flow and direction, we can perform this monitoring. By measuring  heart function we then have a baseline to compare with if there are any changes in the future.
This month we are offering this service for half the normal price! That’s £78.07 instead of the usual £156.13. For a complete scan of the heart we think this is fantastic value.
If you are interested in either of these offers or just want to know more about heart diease in your pet, please ring one of our surgeries and have a chat
