Peter Roberts - Head Veterinary Surgeon
Peter Roberts BVMS PgC Small Animal Medicine MRCVS Head Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from Glasgow Veterinary School in 2008, then worked at Arg Beiyn on the Island for 3 years as a mixed vet. After travelling and locuming I ran a solo branch practice for 3 years in East London. During this time I particularly enjoyed the close connections with clients and continuity of cases, while completing my post graduate certificate in small animal medicine and since then I have worked constantly to further my knowledge in this area.

I subsequently worked in a veterinary hospital in Essex for 3 years as a senior hospital vet, gaining a lot of experience in complex medical cases as well as continuing to enjoy doing a good job of routine work. I undertook additional basic and advanced training in abdomen ultrasound to facilitate medical investigations and had the opportunity to apply this to a large number of cases.

I have returned to the Island keen to apply all I have learned with a focus on using it to create practical plans that put the patient first. I am very keen to pass on any skills I have to my colleagues and can take referrals of medical cases or those that need advanced ultrasound. I am also soon to start a post graduate certificate in advanced abdominal ultrasound to take these skills further.

Outside of work I can be found either enjoying time with my family (including our labrador Bruno who is classically book-smart but not street-smart) or developing our permaculture food forest, looking after our bee colonies and chickens.
